Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin

UW-Madison Coach Bo Ryan, UW-Milwaukee Coach Rob Jeter, UW-Parkside Coach Luke Reigel, UW-Platteville Coach Jeff Gard, and Edgewood College Coach Justin Meyer have teamed up to help beat cancer in Wisconsin.

It is estimated that this year nearly 32,000 people in Wisconsin will be diagnosed with cancer – that’s more than 86 people every day. Our coaches are dedicated to beating this terrible disease, and they want you on their team! Over the past seven years, Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin has raised more than $2.7 million to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives and create more birthdays by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures and fighting back. At the University of Wisconsin, the American Cancer Society has funded over $44 million in research since 1947.  Current Society grants in the state of Wisconsin total more than $12.4 million.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The initiative leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of basketball coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living thorough year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs. Coaches vs. Cancer provides critical mission outreach, while raising funds in support of the Society's lifesaving cancer research, education, advocacy, and community service efforts.
