Thank you to all who helped support the 9th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin Gala! With their help we raised $1.5 million, making it our most successful year to date and getting us one step closer to finding a cure!
The Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin Gala celebrated its 9th year in Wisconsin in record-breaking fashion with 740 people in attendance at the Kohl Center in Madison. Our Honorary Chairs, Bo and Kelly Ryan along with our Distinguished Hosts, Greg and Michelle Gard, Rob and Deanna Jeter, Luke and Merideth Reigel, Jeff and Amy Gard, and Justin Meyer - were joined by Notre Dame Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Mike Brey, for a very memorable evening.
The Gala, in addition to our feeder events, Shooting Down Cancer, Clash for a Cause, Young Professionals, Eno Vino Golf Outing, University Book Store Golf Outing, Golfers vs. Cancer Outing, Suits and Sneakers Challenge and generous donations throughout the year helped raise money for the American Cancer Society and the fight against cancer. With the help and support of our donors, sponsors, underwriters, BOA, planning committee and volunteers we were able to raise $1.5 million in 2016 and maintained for the fourth year the #1 ranking for Coaches vs. Cancer events in the country!
Money raised will help us to continue our cancer research, education, advocacy efforts and service programs for the coming year.
Right now there is $14 million actively invested in cancer research at institutions throughout Wisconsin. Of that $14 million, $8.5 million is currently invested at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
